5. Natural Hormone Enhancement

Aging is a life long process, so reversing some of the effects of age is bound to take time as well. Anti-aging practices focus on exactly what happens as our body’s age. In this case, the focus is the decrease in specific hormones that the body produces.

Experiments have repeatedly shown that hormone replacement therapy can successfully extend a person’s life span. In particular, anti-aging focuses on the human growth hormone (hGH) that peaks at adolescence then decreases 14% every ten years. Human growth hormone tells the body to repair cells, so when the pituitary slows the production of hGH, it has many negative effects, including an increased fat to muscle ratio, which can affect the heart. However, when hGH is replaced in the body, studies have shown that wrinkles decrease, hair growth increases, and sex drive improves, among other things. This could well mean that hGH therapy will usher in a whole new era for anti-aging therapies.

Mind you, hGH is certainly not the only hormone that decreases with age, and there are warning signs a person can watch that indicate hormonal decline. These signs include moodiness, sleep disorders, a lack of mental focus, on-going illness or frequent illness, high blood pressure, and weakness. If you begin experiencing many of these symptoms at the same time, hormone replacement therapy may be in order.
